I included two images on my contents page, one of the main
artist Steele and the other was a subsidiary image of another female artist
Megan, both of these images were edited in Photoshop to make them more effective to use for the contents page. Because Megan was a smaller artist I placed her picture at the bottom of
the page and with a text box typed the page number and placed it on top of the
picture to show what page that artist was allocated to. With this image I did
not edit the background as I liked the effect of the brick wall however with
the main image of Steele I edited out the background. When taking this image of
Steele I thought I could take a photograph of him standing up to fill the page
up and prevent dead space and also by taking a long shot of him standing up
would mean that I would have a range of photographs to present onto my magazine
pages. I edited the background of Steele photo because the background consisted
of irrelevant objects that didn’t mean anything to the artist or the magazine
so to make the image bolder I created a gradient effect using the main three
colours (red, white and blue) this was effective and made the contents page
look fuller. Next to the image I included bold text that explained what the
story was about that artist and also what page number to turn to read more.
