This here is the first stage of progress when creating my magazine in InDesign, I started by creating my header. I kept with the original logo for my magazine, by doing this meant that the logo had to be consistent throughout the whole of my magazine. I created a text box to start with in order to create my main header, I typed the letters that I wanted and then put spaces in between the two letters on either side in order to fit the record disks in to create the o's for the name Top Pops.
To get the disks I copied and pasted them using Google images, the reason for this is because I did not have a record player disk to use and also because I wanted the image to be sharp and did not feel that I could achieve this if I took the image myself. After copying and pasting the disks into InDesign I then situated the disks into the correct positions of where I wanted them to go by doing this I used the drag tool. Next I highlighted the text on Top Pops and then changed the colours into what I wanted the text to be, when doing this I had to keep the colour scheme of the British flag consistent to make the header successful. After changing the text to the correct colours I then changed the font, to make the header successful I had to make the text bold and it had to stand out against the other text on the page, I used the font impact because it was bold and clear without any text that is confusing to the reader, I then changed the size of the text to 53 in order to make it bigger and bolder than the rest of the text on the page.
