RESEARCH:
After researching into magazines and there type of audiences I decided that I wanted my audience to target ages 13-26 with both female and male genders. I wanted the magazine to aim at these ages and at both genders because it creates a larger audience for the magazine. When looking at examples of magazines It was clear to see that I had a similar liking to the artists that the magazines were using for pop music and this inspired me to choose what type of artist I wanted on the cover, even though I targeted an audience of males and females it was clear to see that females were more of a target audience for pop music so this was why I created a male artist for this weeks issue of Top Pops magazine.
COLOUR SCHEME:
When thinking about my colour scheme I was undecided on how I wanted the colour scheme to fit into the magazine in order to make it look successful. When researching into magazines I found that the majority of the magazines used the colour red, the colour is vibrant and stands out and I thought this would be suitable for my magazine but to make it even more successful and presentable I added the colours blue and white to represent the British flag, Also when thinking about my target audience the colour scheme is suitable for both genders so this doesn’t make the magazine more suitable for one gender more than the other.
AUDIENCE FEEDBACK:
After publishing my magazine I thought it would be important to get some audience feedback, the reason for this is because readers and purchasers are what makes the magazines successful within the magazine industry.
It
was important that when choosing the people I wanted to give feedback to me I
chose them equally so I chose 5 males and 5 females all different ages, by
doing this allowed me to see how different audiences rated my Top Pops
magazine.
RESULTS:
Front cover - 80% liked it 20% didn't like it
Double page spread - 40% liked it 60% didn't like it
Contents Page - 50% liked it 50% didn't like it
These results are positive and I am happy with them however I think that my contents page and double page spread could of been adapted more and planned out more to suit the target audience more.
